Buy/Sell Domain Names! Is it Profitable?

Google Buzz

I’ve simply recently stumbled across some net sites like namepros.com and dnforum, websites that focus solely on the buying and selling of domains. And I “gotta tell ya” I used to be quit impressed to hear some of the success stories.

Now from my understanding, I believed exploit domain sales died at the tip of the dotcom Boom. But from what I’ve seen and heard, It appears like it will be a lucrative business. Naturally there is more to it than buying a website name for $5.99 a year and turning around and selling it for $four,000. To return across a website name (whether or not self created, expired, or purchased) spending time advertising it, sending traffic to where it’s parked, finding a broker, doing the things you wish to do to up the price of the name, it’s looks like a very time consuming business.

However if you head to Sedo.com you’d be amazed at the costs that a number of these domains are going for, $5,000, $ten,000, even more.

It seems to me sort of a hidden art. There’s not terribly much speak concerning it in the general internet promoting forums. And everywhere on the web you see ebooks on “How To” write ebooks for profit, do JV (joint venture) deals, ebooks on website traffic, blogging techniques, affiliate marketing, rss feeds…… on and on and on and very very little info on the business of buying and selling domain names. Thus which means it is a business who’s time has passed or a very lucrative one that is hidden from the individuals who jump on the bandwagon.

Just looking at current events and doing domain checks on bound subjects tells me how quickly sensible domains get snatched up. Believe it or not the name Farris Hassan dot com (sixteen year recent boy who visited Iraq) is already taken.

From my studies it appears that there are a choose few who are generously cashing in on the shopping for and selling of domain names. As I discussed higher than there’s alot of work involved however if your willing to affix some membership sites, learn some advertising tricks and find into the sport, the selling of domain names will be a very lucrative business.

Increase My Blog Income With Adsense Online ***

Google Buzz

There are no rules in blogging. You can create a blog (or two) on any subject you are passionate about. A successful blog gets a lot of readers, otherwise known as traffic and you can create various forms of income from your blog traffic. Just one way to do that is with Google’s AdSense ™ program. Read on to learn how a great blog can help you make money with AdSense.

The first thing you should consider is the content, when you are writing a blog to create an income online. You need a good, high traffic niche market and you must target that niche market. Narrow your subject and get specific. Most articles on blogging will tell you this, and for good reason.

Targeting your market helps you to get a loyal readership, who are more likely to buy products advertised on your site, or click the ads that AdSense displays.

Write often. Write good quality articles and post them everyday. If you are able to use a blog scheduling tool, then you can write a lot of articles on one particular day and then schedule them to display every day for a week.

Create similar blogs at multiple sites. There are a lot of places you can set up a blog for free, so why not consider writing similar articles and placing them onto a variety of sites? This can dramatically increase your readership, and if it does, your profits should follow.

Write about your passion. If you write about something in which you have no interest, you’ll likely lose interest fast. Even if you don’t, your readers will notice your lack of enthusiasm in your writing.

Experiment with your writing style until you find your own ‘voice’. When you do, you are likely to find your readership increasing. You can write reviews, critiques, factual information or your own opinions. Let at least a little of yourself through into your writing so your readers can connect with you as a person.

5 Ways a Small Business Can Succeed with Social Media

Google Buzz

Social media has altered the small-business marketing landscape. It is not enough to have a website even if it is informational and well-managed. Social media marketing is a must for a small business today – it is quick, precise, measurable and inexpensive. Anyone can do it but not everyone can do it right.

“Think of social media as a cocktail party,” says David Meerman Scott, author of “The New Rules of Marketing and PR” and “World Wide Rave,” books about how to create buzz online. “You don’t go to a cocktail party and scream at the top of your lungs, ‘Buy my product.’ What works is you have some meaningful conversation first. And that’s just how social media works.” Social Media ROI

Here are 5 ways your business can stay ahead of the competition and succeed in the new world of social media.

Build Your Community

Use free sites like Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. Leverage your business by creating a fan page on Facebook. Don’t use your company name for your personal account on Facebook because you won’t be able to use it for your business fan page. Pick a user name for Twitter with a maximum of 15 characters. Fill out your profile and upload a photo or business logo. LinkedIn is a great way to get the business results of Facebook without the clutter of wall postings, unnecessary applications and games. It is easy to sign up by simply filling out a profile. LinkedIn has a more affluent audience but fewer users than Facebook or Twitter.

Pay Attention to What People Are Saying

Now that you have a community – listen! Your customers have a lot to say. When you participate with them on your social media platforms, you will get some very useful information. People will tell you what they want and what they need. It is also a great way to monitor and take part in conversations about your business and confront problems before they get serious.

Pay Attention to Your Competition

Keep an eye on what your competition is doing. Where are they listed? Who are their fans on Facebook? What kind of promotions are they offering? Check their inbound links for their business directories and then add yourself to the same directories. Make sure your company is on Google Maps, too. You can do this by signing up at Google’s Local Business Center.

Start a Blog

We said it before and we’ll say it again. A business blog is a critical cornerstone of your social media efforts. A blog on your website will increase the number of keywords – words or phrases that search engines recognize – and boost your ranking in all-important web searches.

Contests and Promotions

Using your community to drive sales and brand your product or service is the true beauty of social media. One way to excite the community is to create a contest or offer an exclusive discount or promotion. Promote monthly wine tastings if you have a wine shop. Post lunch or dinner specials if you own a restaurant . If you have a car dealership feature vehicles with rebates and incentives or hold a raffle. If you have a service offer promotions or discounts. Discounts are a great way to connect with your community. By giving special coupons to your social community, you are telling them you are not only a business to engage with but also one to buy from.

These are 5 ways a small business can get going with social media. There are many others and we will pass them along to you soon. We hope this helps.
