How to Promote an Ecommerce Site

An eCommerce site is one of the greatest money making opportunities on the Internet. Imagine having a site with hundreds of products for sale. You will end up making a lot of money.
But first, you need to figure out how to promote your eCommerce site. Without traffic, there can be no sale. Here are a few proven and effective promotion methods. Method 1: Pay per click advertising. Using pay per click advertising is one of the best way to promote an eCommerce site. You have an advantage over other product vendors here – and that is having lots of back end products to sell. For example, you bid $1 per click. So $1 gives you a targeted visitor. That visitor ends up buying just 1 product upfront. But now you have the customer billing information. That very same customer is likely to end up buying more products from you in the future. With more profits, you can afford to bid higher for the clicks. Bidding higher means more traffic, and more traffic leads to even more profits. That is how you achieve growth for your eCommerce site with PPC. In addition, bear in mind that PPC is very scalable. As long as you are willing to pay, you can have all the traffic you want. Method 2: Article marketing and SEO. However, PPC may not be for everybody. That, I can understand. Some people just don’t enjoy bidding on keywords all day long. There may be other more enjoyable methods of traffic generation, such as article marketing and SEO. Actually, article marketing and SEO go hand in hand together. Although they don’t mean the same thing, they kind of complement one another. For instance, when writing and submitting articles, you are really targeting the active readers on the article directories. Well established sites usually have a loyal base of readers. And when you publish a great article on the site, you end up getting a ton of traffic. In each article, you add links to your site. That’s how others can click through and visit your website to learn more about your business. In the “eyes” of the search engines, these links are valuable. The more back links you have to your site, the higher you will appear in the search rankings. Imagine having your products appearing in Google whenever someone searches for a particular product. You will get a lot of targeted traffic for free, which will lead to sales! It is perfectly possible to run an ecommerce site and earn five figures each month just from search engine traffic alone. Remember, that is unpaid traffic, which means that you don’t have to pay a single cent for the traffic. On top of that, you don’t have to spend time adding keywords or managing your PPC campaigns. All you need to do is to write and submit articles on a regular basis. Even when you stop writing, you will still be able to receive traffic from your previously published articles and from the search engines.

3 Things to Consider Before Engaging in Affiliate Marketing

Just like any other business, you need to have careful planning before engaging with affiliate marketing. Take note of the following things to consider as they will surely be a good help in starting your online venture as an affiliate marketer.
1. Consider the cost that you will need to spend in order to start the business in the proper way. There could be affiliate programs where you can join for free but there are also things that you need to definitely have before starting the business. You must have a decent computer, which means it is not outdated. It may not be the latest but it must be run with an excellent system. In addition, a broadband internet connection must go with it. Dial up internet connection is not really good for online business.
You also need to include the cost of a domain name or multiple domain names that you will use; and the cost of the web hosting packages that is suitable for your business. You can also include the budget for instructional or educational materials just for consideration; but there are a lot of articles and web sites that give very good information and trainings about affiliate marketing if in case you want to cut costs in this.
2. Consider the amount of time that you can give to your online business. You may be currently working in a company, which is your current source of income. Though engaging in affiliate marketing means having your own business, it doesn’t mean that you need to quite your current job immediately. You must first lay your online business foundation before deciding to quit your job.
It is better to plan your day, create a schedule. Aside from the time that you give to your day job, give time for learning and time for earning to your online business. Learning and earning are both important to your business. You can apply to good things you learn to earn well.
3. Consider you initial target of earnings and the target time that you want this accomplished. Aim for what you can earn for real within the timeframe that you have. Do not make impossible goals that would only disappoint you if you did not reach it. It is good to dream of very huge income and then make it your final target but you must also have realistic targets to get you going.
If you can only allot up to 3 hours of your time per day to your online business, then set a realistic amount of revenue that you can get from it. Do the Math. Within a month, how much do you expect to reap when you give 3 hours of your time to your business every day; and you when you reach the goal, you can make it bigger and bigger until you get your final target.
Consider these three things before starting your affiliate marketing endeavor. Make a plan, have a focus; and you will surely reach your aspirations of success in this venture.
